Another "Human Rights" travesty

Standup comic Guy Earle has been fined $15,000 by the dumbass BC "Human Rights" Kangaroo Tribunal  (full 107 page decision, summary).  The BCHRT found Earle (along with Zesty's Comedy Club owners - $7500 fine) guilty of violating lesbian Lorna Pardy's pseudo human right not to be offended. What a joke.

Israel's economic miracle

"If you go to the Middle East looking for oil you don't need to stop in Israel.  But if you go looking for brains, for energy, for integrity it's the only stop you need to make." - Warren Buffet

See this video also:

There are more Israeli companies on NASDAQ than all of Europe combined, more companies than all of India, China, Korea and Japan combined. ... There is more global venture capital going to Israel than to the United States (two and a half times) and 30 times as much as to Europe.

Israel is all about innovation and creativity.  It's neighbours are all about death and destruction. And the clowns behind the Canadian "Ship-of-Fools" to Gaza back the latter? Go figure.

Sun News Launch

OK! I've just tuned in to Shaw digital channel 177 and the Sun News channel is counting down to launch!

Update: Looking good! Levant, Lilley, Adler ... the whole crew are terrific.  It's obvious that the rest of the MSM (especially the CBC) will just detest Sun.  Great!

We'll have to come up with an acronym other than "MSM" for the media we love to hate because Sun News is now part of it (the MSM, that is, not the hated part).

Go Sun!

Libelous Liberals

Liberal TV ad [quote from the Globe and Mail attributed to Stephen Harper]: “It’s past time the feds scrapped the Canada Health Act.”

The Globe has retracted (editor's note) saying: "In fact, that statement was written by David Somerville, president of the NCC, in the June 1997 edition of The Bulldog. This online version has been corrected."

And so have the Liberals.

As Preston Manning often and accurately observed:

Fish swim,
Birds fly,
Liberals lie.

"Right-wing" Sun News Network

One of the fun things about the Sun News Network launch is watching the hyperventilating and schadenfreude at all the other media outlets.  Invariably they attach a "right-wing" or "Fox-News-North" moniker to the network.

"Right-wing", "Fox-North"? Geez, I hope so!

And I liked this in today's Post:

... a University of Maryland study concluded that regular viewers of Fox News were more "misinformed" than consumers of other media ...  [Heh. I'm sure that study had no biases :]

It's funny, you never hear these same clowns refer to the "left-wing" CBC and probably rarely if ever do they actually watch Fox News.

Urban plagues

National Post letter of the day:

Re: Urban? Rural? Progressive? It’s Difficult To Say, letter to the editor, April 13. Letter-writer Geoffrey Hale discussed the “urban/rural divide.” In Vancouver there is no such divide. Our city plagues include urban bears, urban coyotes, urban raccoons, urban skunks and urban socialists.
Bob Hoye, Vancouver.

Sun News Network goes on the air tomorrow

Sun on facebook:

Here's an update on where you will be able to watch Sun News Network starting at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, April 18. ...

... Shaw Digital - Channel 177 ...

There's no sign of Sun News anywhere in my Shaw Cable listings.  I can get AlJazeera, BBC, CNN, CBC, CTV, Bloomberg, Fox News, but no Sun News.  WTF!

Update: Just found this at Sun's website (dated April 12th):

The upstart TV network, set to launch next week, announced that Shaw Communications Inc. will offer the news-and-talk television channel to all of its customers in Western Canada and Ontario for free when the channel debuts on April 18. [Then how come it ain't listed?]
