"One should doubtless keep an open mind...though open at both ends, like the food pipe, and have a capacity for excretion as well as intake." -- Northrop Frye, 'The Great Code'

R.I.P. Peter Falk
Peter Falk's Columbo at Dean Martin's Roast of Frank Sinatra:
Even with a scripted role he has the style of jackie gleason to make it look fresh and knows exactly where to milk a laugh or clapping. I loved his part in the " The Great Race" where he was Jack Lemmon's crazy side-kick driver of the jolopy that tried to sabotage the car of Tony Curtis. He was a Cabby in Mad Mad world with Rochester fro Jack Benny.
If a cop like him starts a Columbo investigation , you're fu**** and just confess.

Thank you, that was wonderful. How sad that so many of these wonderfully-talented people are no longer with us. We miss them.
ReplyDeleteYup, Peter Falk was one of my favorites. A very funny guy, especially as Columbo. Too bad he's gone, but he had a long successful life.
