"One should doubtless keep an open mind...though open at both ends, like the food pipe, and have a capacity for excretion as well as intake." -- Northrop Frye, 'The Great Code'
... University of Toronto law professor Ed Morgan believes the Valley Park situation may exceed legal boundaries. “I think this looks like a school practising religion,” Morgan said. ...
Actually, a public school by my home has been used on Sundays by a Baptist congregation for the last 20 years. They pay a fee to cover custodial and security costs.
Anon, I fail to see your point. Your example has no relation to the issue in that it does not take place during school and is simply a group renting the facility on the weekend. It has nothing to do with granting special accommodation to one faith.
Welcome to the Trudeauvian State where some "groups' are more equal then others. The political correctness doctrine in all it's glory. Political correctness that puts forward the doctrine, nurtured by a delusional, illogical "Liberal" minority and dutifully parroted by a compliant and corrupt media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. The Lords prayer has to be eradicated from "Public schools" so as to not "offend", but turning a "Public school" into a defacto Mosque is seen as an act of tolerance and enlightenment. Trudeauvia, where some religions are more equal then others.
I don't think anyone seriously believes that the TDSB and the lib/left 'intelligentsia' wouldn't have gone ballistic if a Christian group conducted religious services in a public school during school hours. Aside from the obvious double standard there's the obvious problem of Islam's notorious reputation for actively promoting Koran-inspired anti-Western, anti-Israel, anti-infidel hatred.
Just imagine the hysteria were it being used as a church.
