Part 2.
Reaction:
... [David] Webb called Obama’s speech “disingenuous” and hit him for “placating his base and the people he needs to play to.” He criticized Obama for putting forth “the idea that the black community is one monolithic block, that most of us, black people, have been profiled. ...”
...“What the president has done is taken us backwards, not forwards,” Webb continued.

ReplyDeleteQUOTE.
“To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow. …For society does not control crime, ever,
by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding”.
Jeff Snyder, Author.
Good quote. Unfortunately most liberals are immune to logic and common sense.
ReplyDeleteIf black people in the States aren't one monolithic block then how come they vote that way?
ReplyDeleteGood point, dance. They are almost one monolithic voting block, especially when the choice is between a black and a white candidate. But there are many more ways to differentiate blacks than the way they vote.
ReplyDeleteWhat really gets me is his saying we have to soul search and get the historic wrongs legacy for blacks. Jesus, what haven't we heard the end of for the last fifty years? It reminds me of the climate change people who despite their quasi monopoly of the media and educational institutions say we need to be educated about the environment.
ReplyDeleteAt best Obama's irresponsible, unpresidential musings mislead the public about the Zimmerman/Martin case and inflame black paranoia. Attempting to correct "historical wrongs" fits the left's notions of "social justice" - which will be at the expense of real justice.
