TheRebel - a web resurrection for Canadian conservative media
Ezra Levant and Brian Lilley are setting up a new website they're calling TheRebel.
Ezra explains:
Sounds like the conservative government snowballed Sun News. Guess Mr. Harper didn't like the conservative truth. Guess M Harper was too bust giving interviews to CBC saying that radical Islam was the number 1 security threat to Canada.
I just went to www.therebel.media and told them I'm interested in signing up for premium content at $20 a month. BTW, I don't have cable tv or broadcast tv. Couldn't stomach paying for the propaganda put out by the leftist media...
This is a smart move -- During the EuroMaidan revolution in Ukraine and the following invasion of Ukraine by Russia I followed a similar structured media outlet called http://news.vice.com where one Simon Ostrovsky covered events. During the Euromaidan, the Ukrainian Government under Putin's puppet Yanukovych controlled most media outlets -- there was a proliferation of web based TV channels that got out the news uncensored and very often live in the streets as events were unfolding without the high overhead of a state broadcaster.
This is a great idea on part of The Rebel and hope they succeed.
