"One should doubtless keep an open mind...though open at both ends, like the food pipe, and have a capacity for excretion as well as intake." -- Northrop Frye, 'The Great Code'
That was a stupid decision, but they are entitled to make stupid decisions and customers are entitled to take their business elsewhere. Are American Express credit cards with this bank? If so, I shall be eliminating mine.
Pulling business for ideological reasons is just stupid, but I'm sure Bank of America will be able to weather the loss of business as thousands of gun owners pull their accounts and take their business to more friendly community banks or co-ops. (Major banks in America are heavily invested in the crony capitalist system, and should be best avoided if at all possible).
If your business does cross border transactions, maybe you should show solidarity with American gun owners as well.
If McMillian were clever, they'd produce an ad where they point out that their Tac-50 & Tac 338 are used by the Navy Seals, Israel and Canada. Their products safeguard freedom.
Bank of America is a scandal ridden corporation. Maybe McMillian should point out how BoA's shifty practices have weakened the US.
This is gonna shoot them in the foot ( pun intended) they are annoying about half the US population and about 10% of the Canadian. Wonder if they thought this through... ps they have tried this or similar about twice before.
The billionaires, the media moguls, the international financiers, the multinational bosses all want more of your money, they want billions poured on billions, while you may struggle to make ends meet.
How many gun owners will do the same and move their accounts.

ReplyDeleteMixing business and politics is really stupid. I print conservative signs for elections but would never turn a liberal away(I'd just charge him more).
