Logical fallacies in climate hysteria

Christopher Monckton:
But there’s a consensus!” shrieked the bossy environmentalist with the messy blonde hair.
“That, Madame, is intellectual baby-talk,” I replied.
I was about to give a talk questioning “global warming” hysteria at Union College, Schenectady. College climate extremists, led by my interlocutor, had set up a table at the door of the lecture theatre to deter students from hearing the skeptical side of the case.
Starting with the consensus or headcount fallacy Monckton goes on to illustrate another ten or so of the logical fallacies (codified by Aristotle 2300 years ago) that regularly crop up in AGW hysterics' arguments.

The above linked account of Monckton's talk at Union College also makes an interesting read.

  1. Lord Monckton is a class act and knows the topic inside and out, contrary to these radicals. He was also spot on when he pointed out how environmentalism became the home for the hard Left when communism failed in the Soviet Union. It is not an accident that "Earth Day" is the birthday of Lenin.

  2. next time he should tell these debt-ridden students that once they leave school they will be giving their paychecks to the State for the rest of thier lives to sovle a controlable issue for human CO2, but can't stop the Sun from burning and causing most of our temperature changes.
NASA reported that severe solar flares causes surface temps on Mars to go up, yet not one SUV or Hollywood mansion there to cause it from the CO2 increases.

  3. To celebrate Earth Day environmental activists and enthusiasts should take in one of Lord Monckton's lectures on global warming. The planet would benefit from their education.
