Pushing shariah: Ottawa's Hijab Day

This Thursday, February 25, 2016, the city of Ottawa will be holding a public event celebrating the hijab, Islam’s physical repression of women.
The City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) organization, backed by the City Council of Ottawa, is hosting the Ottawa Hijab Solidarity Day celebration, also called “Walking with Our Muslims Sisters,” at City Hall.

Front Page Magazine's Jamie Glasov:

You'd think feminists might more logically sponsor a "Ditch the Hijab Day: Celebrating Freedom from Shariah Patriarchy."  But they won't because they're feminist dimwits.

  2. I am actually fine with the hijab as you can still the person's face and unlike the niqab (which is not required) it is part of their religion as only the face, hands, and feet maybe visible in the presence of a non-relative male. Niqab which covers everything but the eyes is different as that is not required in Islam and creates many issues.

  4. Muslim women around the the world are forced to wear the hijab. Many have no choice in the matter unless they are willing to suffer serious abuse up to and including death. It even happens in the West including here in Canada.

CAWI, the useful idiots promoting this event and encouraging non-Muslim women to wear a hijab in "solidarity" with hijab wearers, are in fact also promoting solidarity with Islamists who enforce the practice.

While it's nice that CAWI supports women who wear the hijab (by choice or otherwise) they'd be doing a much more useful service if they emphasized ending the repression of those who don't have the choice. Instead, they're just normalizing the practice and helping the oppressors.

  5. Some while ago a white man advised women not to dress like sluts when walking alone through certain areas and all hell broke loose. We witnessed the MSM, the chattering class, the "progressives" and the feminists in total hysteria which resulted in a slut walk. Times have certainly changed as in the same country we have the same type of people promoting and celebrating the symbol of female slavery. My country has gone insane.

  6. "Sunni ways"... Alain is correct, the country is insane, although IMO the country went insane in the 1960's and has just gotten "progressively" worse... this kind of tribalism and institutional bigotry was inevitable and deliberate. Putting a complete madman like Peeair Turdo in charge of the country and then letting that same madman redefine the country into his own warped image was never a good idea... putting the retarded lisping son of that same madman in charge of the country decades later is simply further proof that insanity is hereditary and as far as the country is concerned, incurable.

  8. When does throwing gay dudes off of buildings become mandatory, or stoning rape victims, aren't those cultural practices protected and promoted by the imposed Trudeau Charter of tribal rights too? When will Canadians be forced to celebrate gang rape of the infidel woman and boys? I mean if we're going to get in line with Islamist savagery and show "solidarity" with their stone age practices why stop at a garment of oppression. Perhaps the celebrations could include some form of punishment for woman who refuse to wear the bag, like lashings or beatings... isn't "multicult" great.!?

  10. The Hijab is a symbol of submission - submission to sharia

Submission to sharia is an open statement of resistance to integrate with the host culture - or worse.

Do I tolerate people wearing whatever the hell they want? Absolutely!

Do I tolerate a subculture which militantly resists accepting Canadian law and civil custom or integrating - not so much.
