Pachauri's fifty shades of green

When you look at the long list of Mr. Pachauri’s disingenuities and evasions, you might be inclined to ask why one more (alleged) example of sleaziness would make any difference.

Mr. Pachauri’s resignation letter on Tuesday, aptly described by blogger Donna Laframboise as a “two-page love letter to himself,” moved from effrontery to gag-worthiness with its claim that “For me the protection of Planet Earth, the survival of all species and sustainability of our ecosystems is more than a mission. It is my religion and my dharma.”

Given that Mr. Pachauri’s hobbies include writing novels featuring the soft-porn adventures of an Indian climate expert ... the question now is whether ... Mr. Pachauri’s karma will run over the IPCC’s dogma.

 The contents of those sexts are bound to be titillating. ... one observer wryly noted,  we’re likely talking about “fifty shades of green.”

IKEA ... are considering changing the recipe of their most popular food line - meatballs - in order to help save the world from global warming:

... "On methane...we are aware of the meat issue with greenhouse gases. We are looking at all our food products from a sustainability perspective but specifically meatballs. They are very popular and they are also our most carbon-intensive food item on our menu."

... IKEA actually admits to allowing the kind of food it serves in its restaurants to be dictated not by the needs of its customers - who order 150 million plates of meatballs every year - but by activists from a hard-left environmental NGO like the World Wildlife Fund. That's not capitalism. That's not customer service. That's eco fascism.

... As Donna Laframboise has often noted, WWF activism is rife at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) too.

Foreign Policy magazine editors and journalists are "naive children"

... Oh, dear. A magazine that can’t write 283 words without using the phrase “climate-change deniers” twice, is out there. I mean, really out there.

... the editors and journalists at Foreign Policy magazine are naive children. They’ve mistaken eco-apocalyptic fairy tales featuring planet-saving superheroes and wicked climate deniers for reality.

The notion that anyone is depending on that magazine’s power of analysis with respect to foreign policy is downright frightening.

Also named among FP mag's 100 Global Thimkers is this quartet of geniuses for proving that the 
devastation of Superstorm Sandy was partly our fault:

["Climate attribution science" would appear to be a "science" of rationalizing preconceived conclusions.]

... two weeks later on December 13, 2012 Alec Rawls leaked 14 draft chapters of the upcoming IPCC report on-line....confirmed the catastrophic warming scenarios of the previous IPCC climate models were way off, far too high, by several factors. ... Further, the IPCC itself stated that there was no trend toward more extreme weather, confirming the Oct. 31, 2012 Wall Street Journal statement by Roger Pielke Jr.
