"One should doubtless keep an open mind...though open at both ends, like the food pipe, and have a capacity for excretion as well as intake." -- Northrop Frye, 'The Great Code'
That's a very subjective quiz... If you're a Conservative you'll answer opposite to what the pollsters expect... i.e. I personally think he's doing a better job at destroying his party from within than anyone could have possibly antisipated or possibly hoped for with his continued defying/bragging/posturing/ about how his Liberals will take down the gov't and then at the last minute supporting Harpers Gov't... Very well Done Iffy...keep up the great work fighting the good fight from behind Liberal lines for Conservatives everywhere!!!
Yes indeed, Ed. Like a lot of these polls, it depends on, in this case, what the respondents' "expectations" were to begin with. Very unscientific. But the simplest interpretation may be the most accurate one here - a simple opinion on Iggy's "performance".
I would NOT want to play chess against him. (Or 'Blocus Trigon' - my game of choice...way better than chess!)
Don't tell the eco-freaks, but I think he has been tossing some stones and killing multiple birds with each one...
Remember during the last elections (Canadian and US), the NDP tried over and over to synchronize their campaign with the US democrats? And now they are rumbling about 'dropping the new' and just being 'the Democratic Party'....
The NDP has worked long and hard to create the impression is some Obama circles that THEY are the equivalent of the US Democrats...and whom did Harper just appoint as Canada's new ambassador to the US? An NDP guy???
Ah, I see...
These 'moves' are not random...Harper is smart: bringing the Obama people closer by appointing the ambassador from a party that (at least claims) is their equivalent...and bringing the NDP into his embrace in the same move!
"It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences." -- C. S. Lewis
