Lord Moncton's prediction of Harper's defeat and why Tony Abbot was dumped

Monckton's backstory about UN global governance ambitions and skullduggery is the mother of all conspiracyies theories:

Bill Maher to Christia Freeland, on Islam - "people like you are the problem"

On Bill Maher's Real Time, Christia Freeland, one of our prize new Liberal cabinet ministers, plays the cultural and moral relativism cards to defend Islam.  Maher says "... people like you are the problem".

Good grief! What a moron - an all too typically liberal moron.

Maher couldn't have been more right. But he could have been a lot more brutal about it, like he would have been were he debating a conservative.

Update: Here's JJ McCullough on the same theme.

Paris terror attacks: The Israelis did it!

Palestinian Authority blames Israel:
Even known Islamic radical groups have condemned the Islamic State (ISIS) for the horrific coordinated terror attacks in Paris ...

However, the Palestinian Authority (PA) stood out for saying that the bombings and shootings claimed by the ISIS should be blamed on Israel.

... The PA ... believes that Israel's spy agency, the Mossad, was responsible for the bombings, according to a statement posted on its official newspaper, WND reported.

Dion's new Green Shift

From my little local newspaper, Peace Arch News, an excellent editorial by Tom Fletcher:
Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion served as environment minister under ... Paul Martin. Then, as Liberal leader, Dion’s proposed “green shift” carbon tax was pivotal only in ending his leadership. With a majority government this time, he promises the entire federal cabinet will be involved.

Dion gave a revealing interview to The Globe and Mail last week about his experience in government.
“The old system was to give the file of the environment to the minister of the environment and say, ‘deal with it, be the hero of the environment groups, but don’t bother us because we have jobs to create and an economy to grow’,” Dion said. “That will not work.”
It certainly didn’t work, which is not surprising since Dion is admitting the Liberals considered the environment ministry a mere public relations tool. This was the period when Canada signed on to the Kyoto Protocol, then pretended to care about it as the United States rejected it in a unanimous vote of Congress.

... Dion’s ill-fated “green shift” wasn’t just about greenhouse gases. He intended to impose a national carbon tax and use the proceeds to eliminate child poverty.

This concept is back, on a global scale. ...

Our new PM. At the G20. Taking selfies. What else?

Climate realists to bring inconvenient truths to COP21

Beginning Dec 7, 2015 at Hotel California, 16 Rue de Berri, 75008 Paris, France:
The Heartland Institute – known globally as the leading think tank debunking global warming alarmism and junk science – is partnering with the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), and other allied organizations to bring some of the world’s most esteemed climate scientists and policy experts to present the inconvenient, data-based truth to the United Nations’ COP 21 summit in Paris....
It will be interesting to see who attends these events and how/if it is reported by the MSM!

Ezra Levant goes to Paris!

Liberals' "absolute resolve" in the face of terror

Jason Kenney:
The only "resolve" we can expect from Liberals will be to withdraw our CF-18s from the fight, take in 25,000 unscreened Syrian refugees before Christmas and give away the farm at the Paris Climate Lollapalooza.

A liberal vegan environmetalist switches to AGW skepticism

An essay by David Seigel spells out the how and why. He includes a warmist rebuttal and his response to that.  It's long read but well worth it.

Are there Jihadis in Canada?

Of course there are. Some are in jail.  Others are in hiding.  Others are busy spreading the word:
CanadianJihad.ca documents public statements made by Canadian imams, Muslim scholars, and Islamic activists who advocate extremist ideas that undermine Canadian principles of freedom, democracy, pluralism, the rule of law, respect for minorities and the separation of mosque and state. In some cases, it shows Muslim leaders actually promoting violence, including murdering infidels.

Terrorists came as refugees via Greece

Breaking:

Barbarians at the gates

... except "there are no gates".  Mark Steyn:
... When the Allahu Akbar boys opened fire, Paris was talking about the climate-change conference due to start later this month, when the world's leaders will fly in to "solve" a "problem" that doesn't exist rather than to address the one that does. But don't worry: we already have a hashtag (#PrayForParis) and doubtless there'll be another candlelight vigil of weepy tilty-headed wankers. Because as long as we all advertise how sad and sorrowful we are, who needs to do anything?

With his usual killer comedy timing, the "leader of the free world" told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning, America" this very morning that he'd "contained" ISIS and that they're not "gaining strength". A few hours later, a cell whose members claim to have been recruited by ISIS slaughtered over 150 people in the heart of Paris ...

What's the happy ending here? Because if M Hollande isn't prepared to end mass Muslim immigration to France and Europe, then his "pitiless war" isn't serious. And, if they're still willing to tolerate Mutti Merkel's mad plan to reverse Germany's demographic death spiral through fast-track Islamization, then Europeans aren't serious. In the end, the decadence of Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and the rest of the fin de civilisation western leadership will cost you your world and everything you love.
So screw the candlelight vigil.

Breaking: Paris Terror Attacks Kill More Than 100

NYT:
A hostage situation at the Bataclan concert hall came to an end on Friday night when French police raided the building, according to French television, who quoted the police as saying at least 100 people had been killed there.
Dozens more died in apparently coordinated attacks outside the country’s main sports stadium and at least five other popular locations in the city.
More: What about COP21?

And by all means, let's implore the nitwit Liberals to bring in even more Syrian migrants, and by Christmas, security checks be damned!

Those incestuous liberals

Ezra Levant:

Axis of Idiocy

Theo Caldwell on how to deal with liberals in the coming years:
... I propose that we keep taking the piss out of them for the next four years at least, until we are hoarse and our ribs ache from laughing. Not only will this numb the pain and pass the time, but liberals are at their preening, unattractive worst when on the business end of humour. ...

Global warming alarmist "sausage" machines

Climate computer models are what alarmists use to push AGW alarm.  But, like sausages, what goes into them isn't very pretty.  For a glimpse, read Inside the Climate Computer Models :
... The harsh reality is that any science is wrong if its mathematics is wrong. The mathematics of the climate models’ internal workings is wrong.
From all of the above, it is clear that no matter how much more knowledge and effort is put into the climate models, and no matter how many more billions of dollars are poured into them, they can never be used for climate prediction while they retain the same basic structure and methodology.

Remembrance

In Flanders fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Justin's sunny new "era" of openness - lasted less than a week

Brian Lilley:

Keystone XL: Obama's "Big Lies"

Peter Foster's list:
... His first Big Lie was to suggest that Keystone XL was an export pipeline.

He also lied by omission in failing to mention that it would also carry U.S. crude.

He blandly declared that Keystone XL would not serve “the national interest of the United States.” ...

... He claimed that Keystone would be “neither be a silver bullet for the economy, as was promised by some, nor the express lane to climate disaster proclaimed by others.” But while there is no doubt that radical environmentalists such as James Hansen had claimed that approving Keystone XL would be “game over” for the planet, no supporter had ever suggested that it would be an economic panacea.

... Obama weaseled that “The pipeline would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to our economy,” but then what is his idea of “meaningful?”

... Obama’s claim that the pipeline would not contribute to energy security was his next whopper. The U.S. still imports more than 4 million barrels a day from countries apart from Canada. They are all human rights abusers.

... Inevitably, he pulled out the “dirty” oil card, even though oil imported into the U.S. from Venezuela has a similar emissions profile.

... Obama then launched into fantasies about the success of virtuous “clean” investments

... before reaching the main reason for the pipeline’s rejection: it would have “undercut” America’s “global leadership,” which is to say his own political legacy.
... In sum, Justin Trudeau’s new government has just been thrown under the wheels of Obama’s mammoth self-regard, but all Justin can do is issue a press release declaring that he is “disappointed.”
Obama, Liar-in-Chief.  But I doubt that Trudeau is very disappointed.  Nor is his Gerald Butts' new Environment Minister, Catherine ("#CanadaIsBack") McKenna.

NOAA hypes "extreme weather" agitprop

For climate alarmists, “extreme” weather events are considered irrefutable evidence of AGW and its harmful effects.  They hype extreme weather agitprop relentlessly.  Even the once reputable National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has been subverted for the purpose.  However NOAA’s “explanations”, come riddled with disclaimers, speculation, contradiction and uncertainty:
... I would be a lot more impressed if NOAA could explain the extreme events of 2016, rather than trying to retrofit alarmist explanations to events they have no skill to predict. Starting with an assumption that an anthropogenic effect is playing a substantial role is not the same as demonstrating that this is the case.

Obama finally decides ...

... to kill Keystone XL:
The Keystone XL project, age 7, passed away on Friday, the victim of protracted political gamesmanship.
... On Friday morning, Barack Obama dragged the catatonic patient to the steps of the U.S. State Department and shot it dead. It might have even been merciful if only he had had the nerve to do it sooner.
“The critical factor in my determination was this: moving forward with this project would significantly undermine our ability to continue leading the world in combating climate change,” read a statement from Secretary of State John Kerry, written with what we can only presume was a straight face.
As the headline said:  "Keystone XL ... choked on political baloney"

More, by Claudia Cattaneo
Canadians of every political persuasion should be dismayed by U.S. President Barack Obama’s cowardly rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline. [Most are dismayed but there's no shortage of leftist, eco-nut traitors cheering the decision.]

The Media Party and Liberal Party consummate their romance

"Honeymoon is usually a just a metaphor, but yesterday it was a true conjugal merger":

Related: Terence Corcoran - The Trudeau II coronation is over — now time to face reality
Now the new young King of all Good Causes will move, accompanied by a 30-member cabinet of diversity and inclusiveness, of young innocents and ancient backroom hackers, to the next phase of what promises to be one of the most painful political adventures in the history of the Dominion of Canada.

Climate fascism on the move

New York’s attorney general is investigating whether Exxon Mobil lied about climate change risks:
The New York attorney general has begun a sweeping investigation of Exxon Mobil to determine whether the company lied to the public about the risks of climate change or to investors about how those risks might hurt the oil business.
According to people with knowledge of the investigation, Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman issued a subpoena Wednesday evening to Exxon Mobil, demanding extensive financial records, emails and other documents.
Does anyone know with any certainty at all what "climate change risks" really are?  This is looks like a witch hunt.  It would be a lot more fruitful for the AG zealots to investigate whether the UN IPCC "lied" about climate change risks.  They've been exaggerating warming and climate risks for decades.

The new cabinet: the good news, and the bad

The biggest problem isn't in the cabinet, it's the Marxist eco-radical and Trudeau best pal, Gerald Butts, in the PMO:
