Michelle's angst

Well, Michelle, at least she's a legal immigrant.  But, come to think of it, if she were a Mexican border jumper you'd probably be smiling.

'No Borders' hypocrisy

Victor Davis Hanson, Imagine No Border:
... Among elites, borderlessness has taken its place among the politically correct positions of our age
... the Left continues to cherish the vision of a borderless world as morally superior, a triumph over artificially imposed difference.
... Yet the truth is that borders do not create difference—they reflect it. Elites’ continued attempts to erase borders are both futile and destructive.
Few escape petty hypocrisy when preaching the universal gospel of borderlessness
Barack Obama has caricatured the building of a wall on the U.S. southern border as nonsensical, as if borders are discriminatory and walls never work. ... the [well armed] Secret Service is currently adding five feet to the White House fence—presumably on the retrograde logic that what is inside the White House grounds is different from what is outside.
In 2011, open-borders advocate Antonio Villaraigosa became the first mayor in Los Angeles history to build a wall around the official mayoral residence.
“You’re about to graduate into a complex and borderless world,” Secretary of State John Kerry recently enthused to the graduating class at Northeastern University ... moved his 76-foot luxury yacht from Boston Harbor across the state border to Rhode Island in order to avoid $500,000 in sales taxes and assorted state and local taxes.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg offers another case study. The multibillionaire advocates for a fluid southern border and lax immigration enforcement, but he has also stealthily spent $30 million to buy up four homes surrounding his Palo Alto estate. They form a sort of no-man’s-land defense outside his own Maginot Line fence

"If you see something, say something!"

Mike Huckabee on the Obama counter- terrorism strategy:
... At the same time that the Obama Administration was arguing for the right to gather electronic data on every US citizen, including reporters, it was abandoning real leads, killing a serious terrorist investigative unit and deleting its files, and removing experts and training materials on how to identify threats, all because those things might be seen as culturally insensitive to Muslims. This is how political correctness kills, and it just set a new US record.
To sum up, the Obama Administration’s counter-terrorism strategy in 13 words:

Supreme Court deals a setback to Obama's climate change plan

Obama's power plant regs on hold:
A divided Supreme Court on Tuesday abruptly halted President Obama's controversial new power plant regulations, dealing a blow to the administration's sweeping plan to address global warming.
In a 5-4 decision, the court halted enforcement of the plan until after legal challenges are resolved.
The surprising move is a victory for the coalition of 27 mostly Republican-led states and industry opponents that call the regulations "an unprecedented power grab." ...
... To convince the high court to temporarily halt the plan, opponents had to convince the justices that there was a "fair prospect" the court would strike down the rule.

"Nothing to do with Islam"

As Barack Hussein Obama, the idiot mayor of Philadelphia this week and other useful idiots on the lib/left repeat ad-nauseam whenever terrorists strike, obviously motivated by Islam, that it had "nothing to do with Islam (religion of peace)".

Not that it is needed, but more strong evidence of Islam's culpability came with a recently published study of suicide attacks worldwide in 2015 which documented 452 attacks worldwide of which 450 were committed by Muslims:
... Of course, we cannot avoid mentioning the religious element as the most significant factor that motivates the suicide terrorists throughout the world. Here’s the most dramatic statistic: 450 of 452 suicide terror attacks in 2015 were perpetrated by Muslim extremists. One of the remaining two attacks was carried out by the Kurdish underground. The other was perpetrated by a woman supporter of a leftist group in Turkey.
Note that the Israeli researcher team was very careful about defining what constituted a suicide attack and how attacks were counted, noting, for example, "we consider the terror attack that took place in Paris two months ago as a single attack, even though there were seven suicide terrorists.”

Trudeau appoints HAMAS backer as Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary

Not to be outdone by Obama:

Now, how long will it be before we see HAMAS removed from the list of designated terrorist entities?

Obama names HAMAS sympathizer as new ISIS Czar

Incredible:
President Obama has appointed a foreign policy advisor known to be a friend of the terrorist group Hamas to be the administration’s new czar in charge of countering ISIS. The appointee, Robert Malley, has a history of sympathizing with Islamists, which makes the appointment all the more appalling.
Fearful of losing Jewish voters, Obama severed ties with Malley in May of 2008 when it was disclosed that he had held meetings with Hamas. One day after the election, it was reported that Malley had been dispatched to the Middle East to work on Obama's promise to "improve ties with Egypt and Syria."

Barbarians at the gates

... except "there are no gates".  Mark Steyn:
... When the Allahu Akbar boys opened fire, Paris was talking about the climate-change conference due to start later this month, when the world's leaders will fly in to "solve" a "problem" that doesn't exist rather than to address the one that does. But don't worry: we already have a hashtag (#PrayForParis) and doubtless there'll be another candlelight vigil of weepy tilty-headed wankers. Because as long as we all advertise how sad and sorrowful we are, who needs to do anything?

With his usual killer comedy timing, the "leader of the free world" told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning, America" this very morning that he'd "contained" ISIS and that they're not "gaining strength". A few hours later, a cell whose members claim to have been recruited by ISIS slaughtered over 150 people in the heart of Paris ...

What's the happy ending here? Because if M Hollande isn't prepared to end mass Muslim immigration to France and Europe, then his "pitiless war" isn't serious. And, if they're still willing to tolerate Mutti Merkel's mad plan to reverse Germany's demographic death spiral through fast-track Islamization, then Europeans aren't serious. In the end, the decadence of Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and the rest of the fin de civilisation western leadership will cost you your world and everything you love.
So screw the candlelight vigil.

Keystone XL: Obama's "Big Lies"

Peter Foster's list:
... His first Big Lie was to suggest that Keystone XL was an export pipeline.

He also lied by omission in failing to mention that it would also carry U.S. crude.

He blandly declared that Keystone XL would not serve “the national interest of the United States.” ...

... He claimed that Keystone would be “neither be a silver bullet for the economy, as was promised by some, nor the express lane to climate disaster proclaimed by others.” But while there is no doubt that radical environmentalists such as James Hansen had claimed that approving Keystone XL would be “game over” for the planet, no supporter had ever suggested that it would be an economic panacea.

... Obama weaseled that “The pipeline would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to our economy,” but then what is his idea of “meaningful?”

... Obama’s claim that the pipeline would not contribute to energy security was his next whopper. The U.S. still imports more than 4 million barrels a day from countries apart from Canada. They are all human rights abusers.

... Inevitably, he pulled out the “dirty” oil card, even though oil imported into the U.S. from Venezuela has a similar emissions profile.

... Obama then launched into fantasies about the success of virtuous “clean” investments

... before reaching the main reason for the pipeline’s rejection: it would have “undercut” America’s “global leadership,” which is to say his own political legacy.
... In sum, Justin Trudeau’s new government has just been thrown under the wheels of Obama’s mammoth self-regard, but all Justin can do is issue a press release declaring that he is “disappointed.”
Obama, Liar-in-Chief.  But I doubt that Trudeau is very disappointed.  Nor is his Gerald Butts' new Environment Minister, Catherine ("#CanadaIsBack") McKenna.

Obama finally decides ...

... to kill Keystone XL:
The Keystone XL project, age 7, passed away on Friday, the victim of protracted political gamesmanship.
... On Friday morning, Barack Obama dragged the catatonic patient to the steps of the U.S. State Department and shot it dead. It might have even been merciful if only he had had the nerve to do it sooner.
“The critical factor in my determination was this: moving forward with this project would significantly undermine our ability to continue leading the world in combating climate change,” read a statement from Secretary of State John Kerry, written with what we can only presume was a straight face.
As the headline said:  "Keystone XL ... choked on political baloney"

More, by Claudia Cattaneo
Canadians of every political persuasion should be dismayed by U.S. President Barack Obama’s cowardly rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline. [Most are dismayed but there's no shortage of leftist, eco-nut traitors cheering the decision.]

The evil Koch brothers

Here's one of them - the mild mannered, 79 year old gentleman, Charles:
"... My main difference with Hillary is on the vision of what kind of society makes people's lives better - [Hillary's (and all Democrats')] is a vision of society in which people are too evil or stupid to run their own lives but those in power are perfectly capable of running everybody elses' lives because they're so much smarter.  It's what Hayek called "the fatal conceit" or William Easterly called "the tyranny of experts" because that's what it is, tyranny.
... [government] waste and spending are heading us towards a financial cliff ... The reason we tend to support Republicans is they're taking us towards the cliff at only 70 miles an hour and the Democrats are taking us at 100 miles an hour. ..."

KDS (Koch Derangement Syndrome) is HDS on stilts. Even Obama has it.

Russian lies, American fecklessness

Obama's Middle East mess just got messier

Russia Launches Airstrikes in Nothern Syria

Russian warplanes began bombarding Syrian opposition targets in the war-torn nation's north Wednesday, following a terse meeting at which a Russian general asked Pentagon officials to clear out of Syrian air space and was rebuffed, Fox News has learned.
... The strikes hit targets in Homs and Hama, but there is no presence of ISIS in those areas
So, Putin is bombing Syrian rebel forces being supported by the Obama coalition.  When Obama met with Putin for 90 minutes in New York this week you have to wonder what the "pixie dust president"  gave away this time.

Climate alarmist outrage of the week

Scientists demand Obama use the RICO Act to silence climate skeptics:
... Twenty alarmist climate scientists – including UN IPCC lead author Kevin ‘Travesty’ Trenberth – have written a letter to President Obama urging him to use RICO laws to crush dissent by climate skeptics. Their hypocrisy and dishonesty, especially that of the main signatory, almost defies belief.....

Of migrants, climate and HDS

Lawrence Solomon: Obama's migrants
Soon after being sworn in as President of the United States in 2009, Barack Obama made the historic speech in Cairo that would launch the Arab Spring the following year. Within weeks of the start of the protests, Egyptian President Mubarak was overthrown with Obama’s encouragement, leading to the takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood ...
Obama's foreign policy has been an unmitigated disaster on many fronts, the M.E. refugee situation being the biggest example of the consequences so far.  He has telegraphed nothing but weakness to the world and the world's worst actors have taken note:  Russia (the Ukraine), Iran (the Godawful nuke deal, for one), China (wait for it!), ...  Too bad (for the world) that he still has over a year left as POTUS.  But when he's gone, any of the 17 Republican candidates will be a vast improvement.

Peter Foster: Climate policy refugees

The rocky road to the federal election is running parallel to the even rockier road to the (latest) “last chance to save the world” UN climate conference in Paris. In fact, their paths are not so much running parallel as frequently colliding. Both are littered with refugees, in one case real, in the other phantasmagorical.

Profound Climate Concern – which tends to overlap with Harper Derangement Syndrome — has become a key factor in Canadian politics. It lies at the bottom of rabid opposition to further development of the oil sands and pipelines, the proliferation of subsidies for unreliable wind and solar energy, and a hotchpotch of plans to curb emissions via regulation, taxes or trading systems. All mean lost jobs and reduced GDP. Only Stephen Harper has dared to point this out, and has been roundly abused for doing so. ...

Obama's delusional rhetoric on Iran nuke deal

Charles Krauthammer nails it, saying Obama has set a new low with his demonization of Republicans who oppose his deal with Iran on nukes:

Gay marriage - Some lessons from Canada for Americans on what to expect next

Brian Lilley breaks it down:

In stunning contradiction of his position a very short time ago, Obama was overjoyed with the US Supreme Court ruling, and even had the White House bathed in rainbow colors.  But his former senior adviser, David Axelrod, explained that there was no contradiction - Obama was lying.  Well, that's OK then!
