He, Barbara Ariel and another refugee from Communism Lubor Zink of The Toronto Sun (the only Press Gallery member who called out consistently Pierre Trudeau's love of totalitarian regimes) saved the reputation of journalism for me when I was growing up.
Jonas was one of my favorite columnists, one of the few that had the ability to clearly thing through an issue rather than spew PC terminology.
the 1956 Hungarian rebellion brought many gifted people to Canada as refugees, we should only be so lucky today with the new crop of trendy refugees.
