Anne Coulter begs to differ, saying that the 14th Amendment gave citizenship only to blacks following the Civil War and that the Supreme Court confirmed this in a case in 1884:
Update: Here's more from Ann Coulter, including:
"... The anchor baby scam was invented 30 years ago by a liberal zealot, Justice William Brennan, who slipped a footnote into a 1982 Supreme Court opinion announcing that the kids born to illegals on U.S. soil are citizens. Fox News is treating Brennan’s crayon scratchings on the Constitution as part of our precious national inheritance. ..."

ahhh mark levin, Ted Cruz all agree with the donald trump so ann coulter isn't the only one and if mark Levin who is a Constituional Scholar and Ted Cruz who pretty much wrote the constituion un Clerance tompson who is now a us supreme court say that donald is right then i guess he is.
Ann Coulter is also blasting Fox News 'experts' (esp Bill O'Reilly) for their take on the issue, which is that the 14th Amendment guarantees anchor babies legal citizenship. O'Reilly thinks this should be changed but insists it is now the law.
Anyway, Coulter has more to say on this here:

... with this being one paragraph of many:
"The anchor baby scam was invented 30 years ago by a liberal zealot, Justice William Brennan, who slipped a footnote into a 1982 Supreme Court opinion announcing that the kids born to illegals on U.S. soil are citizens. Fox News is treating Brennan’s crayon scratchings on the Constitution as part of our precious national inheritance."
If overturning an amendment was as easy as Mr. Trump indicates I suspect that liberals would have had the 2nd amendment gone years ago. An empty promise by a guy who offers "easy" solutions for complex problems.
Although, apparently, it's not all that clear that the 14th amendment needs to be overturned to deal with the idiocy of giving citizenship to babies born to non-citizens.
Odd fact, Marco Rubio was born in the U.S. before his parents became citizens. By definition he is an anchor baby.
