Lord Christopher Monckton with Michael Coren

There's some interesting background and a bio posted with the video at YouTube.

A fine rebuttal by an anonymous Marxist rent-seeker. I'm certainly convinced!

No academic freedom, no taxpayer subsidies. I like the sound of that.

I saw the interview and was extremely impressed by Lord Monkton. I liked how he pointed out that thousands of years ago the Chinese determined that people are pretty much divided into two types. That remains so true today; those who want to control everything and everyone else and those who cherish freedom and believe in live and let live. I would love to hear him talk for at least a good thirty minutes if not an hour for he knows his facts.

One more thing like johndoe I must say that Lord Monkton was spot on about how we should be dealing with the Marxist hotbeds called universities; stop funding them.

Lord Monckton always impresses me as an extraordinarily intelligent and reasonable man.

Hello.

The first time I heard about Monckton, it was in one of Michael Coren's columns. From there I found a video of Monckton on The Michael Coren Show... and have paid attention to Monckton ever since. He's the only climate "denier" or "skeptic" or "realist" or "contrarian" that I have paid much attention to. In large part this is because he is a very effective advocate for his cause. I have tried looking into a number of his claims, but there are a number of other people out there who have been able to do a much better job than I ever could. (Their claims need to be checked too, but over the last couple of years, I've become convinced that Monckton's best critics are more accurate than Monckton.

I listened to both versions of John Abraham's critique.

I didn't consider it an "ad hominem attack" at all. It was very detailed, and focused in great detail on Monckton's claims. Monckton's responses are far more ad hominem. "He looks like an overcooked prawn"?** Even if he was a large, talking, overcooked prawn (with a PhD), that would still be an ad hominem attack... But I digress.
