Supreme Court justice trashes US constitution

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg went on Egyptian TV recently and said, among other lunatic things:
You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary... It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the US constitution - Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world?
Wow!  As PJTV's Stephen Green says: "... Ginsburg needs to recuse herself from any case involving the constitution."

It just goes to show that one can be a judge and still be totally ignorant of history and facts. Otherwise she would have known that Canada actually had far more rights and freedoms prior to Trudeau's charter which replaced them. What a silly woman and she is a judge?

Shame on Alain. Do you know that people HAVE NO RIGHTS until one of our omniscient all benevolent masters on the judicial bench reach down and bestow them upon us?

Personally I'm delighted the senile, crazy old bag stopped soiling her Depends and drooling long enough to give this little speech.

It shows just how completely arrogant and self important these asshole judges are (Canadian ones even more so).

The more hubris they show, the more people will lose what little remaing respect there is for the judiciary & legal community.

The more the disrespect by the public grows, the more the judges will try to ram respect down our throats --- and on & on it goes....... Hee hee. I friggin love it!

If Justice Ginsburg wanted to give Egypt a bit of useful advice she should have suggested a separation of faith (Islam) and state.

Apparently 80% of women in South Africa have been raped.

So much for their constitution....
