Pushing shariah: Ottawa's Hijab Day

 This Thursday, February 25, 2016, the city of Ottawa will be holding a public event celebrating the hijab, Islam’s physical repression of women.
The City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) organization, backed by the City Council of Ottawa, is hosting the Ottawa Hijab Solidarity Day celebration, also called “Walking with Our Muslims Sisters,” at City Hall.

Front Page Magazine's Jamie Glasov:

You'd think feminists might more logically sponsor a "Ditch the Hijab Day: Celebrating Freedom from Shariah Patriarchy."  But they won't because they're feminist dimwits.

How politicians corrupt the media

Notley's recent attempt to directly censor journalists she doesn't like is one thing.  A more insidious form of corruption has been politicians' blatant [legal?] bribing of journalists and media outlets they do like.

Ezra Levant discusses this in today's Financial Post:
... The CBC is the obvious example. In the recent federal election, the NDP and Liberals battled for the hearts and minds of the CBC’s journalists. Thomas Mulcair started the bidding with a promise of a $115 million annual CBC bonus if he were elected. Not to be outdone, Trudeau upped the ante to a whopping $150 million. The politicians were brazen: they were offering the journalists who cover them a success fee [using taxpayers' money] if they were elected.
... The Canadian Media Guild, the journalists’ union that dominates the CBC as well as The Canadian Press newswire, formally registered as a “third-party” campaign group with Elections Canada, ... Every unionized journalist covering the election was contributing part of their own salary to an anti-Harper election effort.
... It’s not just CBC journalists who are corrupted by being politicians’ pets. Journalists at private media are, too. As they nervously polish up their LinkedIn resumes, they can’t help but notice that the only major, national news organization still hiring is the CBC ... How many private sector journalists are tailoring their own work now to mirror the editorial line of the CBC where they hope to be in six months?

Notley blacklists Rebel Media journalists, saying "[they] are not journalists"

... therefore, says her Solicitor General lawyer,  get out and stay out of Alberta government press events:
... [Rebel Media people] are not journalists and are not entitled to access media lock-ups or other such events.

So, then, it's off to court for a lawsuit.  It would be interesting to know how Notley and her taxpayer funded thugs define "journalist".

Faith Goldy outs herself:  "I identify as a journalist  ... maybe it's not a choice, it's 2016 and ..."

Update: Notley backpedals.
"We’ve heard a lot of feedback from Albertans and media over the course of the last two days and it’s clear we made a mistake. The government has appointed former Western Canadian Bureau Chief for Canadian Press, Heather Boyd to consult and give us recommendations on what the government’s media policies should be. In the meantime, no one will be excluded from government media events."

Liberals feel that learning French or English is too "burdensome" for newcomers

If you needed reminding, the most absurd phrase in the English language is: "Prime Minister Justin Trudeau".  New immigrants shouldn't have much difficulty learning it.

More proof of this absurdity is forthcoming every day with the latest being the Liberals' moves to undo the previous government's common sense immigration reforms, including relieving new immigrants of the "burden" of learning one of the official languages:

Liberals aren't just stupid, they're ridiculous morons.

Why capitalism is great

And why the anti-capitalist left are clueless morons.  Trouble is, there are so many of them.  Why else would Bernie Sanders be so high in the polls?

The CBC's corrupt, incestuous relationship with Trudeau's Liberal Party

Graeme Gordon's latest - 10 Hitches With CBC’s 10 Canadians ‘Face-to-Face’ With PM :
... The CBC coverage of last election cycle should leave no doubt in Canadians’ minds that the CBC is the cheer-leading captain of our new government

... notes on CBC’s incestuous ties to the LPC:
- A couple of CBC executives took leave-of-absences so they could campaign with the LPC;
-The union representing many CBC journalists registered to campaign against the Conservatives last election;
- A former CBC journalist who covered federal politics recently wrote about how the new defence minister is “bad ass” is now working and writing press releases for that very same “bad ass”;
- And the LPC has promised to give the CBC an additional 150 million dollars to its one billion dollar annual subsidy (essentially bribing the network for immensely favourable coverage of Trudeau).
Graeme goes on to parse each of the 10 interview sessions with a glib, cliche spouting Trudeau in what comes off as "reality TV" orchestrated by Peter Mansbridge and CBC producers.
... evidence supporting the propaganda charge against CBC’s special, “Face to Face”, is the reality-TV-like-quality of the production. It was odd that Peter Mansbridge and producers thought it appropriate to start each interview with the repetitive camera shot of the PM’s-glossy-wooden-door-with-gilded-lettering being opened by each contestant and then Trudeau purring each time, “Welcome to the Prime Minister’s office.”

Justin Trudeau on ISIS - more smug, sanctimonious platitudes

Brian Lilley - Trudeau’s troubling worldview on full display:
... Speaking in his best, ‘I’m reading you a bedtime story’ cadence, Trudeau said that Canada is stronger than ISIS. ...

Troubling worldview indeed, delivered as smug, sanctimonious, delusional platitudes befitting a junior high school valedictorian.  And he's blindly rehashing his daddy's famous "reason over passion" motto (and deeply held lib/left belief).

Supreme Court deals a setback to Obama's climate change plan

Obama's power plant regs on hold:
A divided Supreme Court on Tuesday abruptly halted President Obama's controversial new power plant regulations, dealing a blow to the administration's sweeping plan to address global warming.
In a 5-4 decision, the court halted enforcement of the plan until after legal challenges are resolved.
The surprising move is a victory for the coalition of 27 mostly Republican-led states and industry opponents that call the regulations "an unprecedented power grab." ...
... To convince the high court to temporarily halt the plan, opponents had to convince the justices that there was a "fair prospect" the court would strike down the rule.

The Liberals' outrageous plans for our military

We saw it coming! Pull our military out the fight against ISIS and convert our bases into Muslim refugee camps.  Good grief, what absolute morons!

Mandatory indigenous studies at Canadian universities

Jason Agnew notes the absurdities and the exciting possibilities:

Since what's good for the goose must be good for the gander, let's force indigenous students to take mandatory courses in the foundations of Western civilization, say, in CAPITALISM. That would do them a hell of a lot more good than "indigenous studies" would do us.

And while we're at it lets make that course in capitalism mandatory for all non-aboriginal students as well. They won't get it any other way. That might help offset the brain damage being done by those studies in the-rosy-side-of-Marxism that most of them are getting now.

Defence Minister Sajjan's goofy "progressive" ideas

If this doesn't prove that, like Trudeau himself, Sajjan is "just not ready", nothing will: Negotiate with ISIS, climate change a cause of the Syrian civil war and the rise of ISIS.  Good grief!!

Neither Sajjan nor Trudeau will ever be ready.
